Locally Owned. Passionately Operated. The Ghent is the shared vision of husband-and-wife team Raina and Wayne Mayhugh and their longtime friend, Jason Shea. Their journey began in Wilmington, NC, over a decade ago, where the trio first cut their teeth in the hospitality industry together.

After years of honing their craft and managing restaurants across the region, they reunited in Norfolk in 2022 with a new goal: to build the kind of place they would want to hang out in themselves. The result is a space that pairs a laid-back, high-energy atmosphere with Wayne’s creative take on elevated pub fare. We are committed to fresh ingredients, good times, and great hospitality.
